I was toying with GEMBENCH (random number generator;) and was trying
to run the ECBACK cache before launching GEMBENCH under TOS 4.04
(NOVA disabled). When Gembench gets to the point of reading the FPU
BIN file, it locks up. Under MiNT, I can launch Gembench, then run the
ECBACK.TOS and run the benchmark. However as Gembench averages
numbers, running under MiNT makes one think that execution is not as
fast as under normal TOS (mainly because of ROM access percentage).
Is there an ACC that can launch a TOS app after a program like
Gembench is running under singletasking TOS? Better yet, maybe Magnus
could write a CPX like the data and instruction cache have to enable
and disable the ECBACK cache.
Centek recently posted some Gembench results of their Centurbo II
under Dolmen (sp), but I thought the A/B bench was not fairly
compaired:).
