AGH has learned from a reliable industry insider that
Activision is seeking to acquire Atari Corp! According to
our source (who wishes to remain anonymous), Activision
was not merely content with purchasing the properties to
Battlezone and Asteroids and now wants everything that
goes with Atari's name. They are supposedly in
negotiations with Jack Tramiel himself. We'll keep you
posted with regards to any new developments surrounding
the possible merger of two of the most storied names in
video game history. If the acquisition of Atari happens, just
remember you heard it here first.
